It is overseen by an independent board of directors and is funded with €5 billion of equity capital committed by the Government. It is also permitted to borrow up to €1.25bn The LDA has commenced construction on a number of projects on State land and has a delivery pipeline in excess of 17,000 homes. It also works in partnership with the country’s largest and most experienced homebuilders and will deliver a further 8,000 homes under the Government’s Project Tosaigh initiative. Additionally, the LDA is working on large-scale longer-term strategic areas by master-planning and bringing forward planning applications in locations such as Limerick Colbert Quarter, the Digital Hub in Dublin and Sandy Road in Galway. About the Role: The Land Development team and are looking to expand their team an Executive Town Planner with 6 years ‘plus relevant planning experience who will report to the Senior Planner (Planning and Development Management in the Planning Services department within the Land Development Agency. The goal of the Planning Development Management team within the LDA is to support and progress the planning and development of lda development sites across the project lifecycle to increase the supply of housing in the State and affordable and social housing. The LDA is recruiting for a candidate with relevant planning experience and interest in collaborating and inputting towards client facing roles with significant involvement in multi-disciplinary design teams, providing effective planning advice and support to support projects through the planning and development and delivery process. Key Duties and Responsibilities: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to advance planning applications, master planning, and regeneration projects on key sites across the country. Contribute to public consultation and engagement initiatives for site development including supporting proposals for key sites in line with agreed requirements. Support the delivery of development projects, including planning advice and input to manage planning applications, prepare reports, brief and advise and ensure compliance with legislation and regulations. To support development of LDA strategic sites including planning / master planning advice on projects, phasing and related works and studies and compliance matters in line with legislative requirements. To monitor and report on project progress regularly and keep up to date records/ trackers, advise on planning matters, including legislation, key policy areas and develop understanding and report as relevant in relation to implications and opportunities for housing development and infrastructure related matters. To build co-operative working relationships with local authority and other key partners and provide advice and support in an professional and delivery focused manner Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time. Qualifications and Experience Requirements: Successful candidates will have the following: A recognised 3rd level qualification in Planning (IPI or RTPI) with professional accreditation. At least 6 years of relevant experience in town planning, project management, or a related field. Strong understanding of the Irish Planning System, including planning legislation, principles, and practices. Proven experience in multi-disciplinary teamwork and managing projects through the planning process. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Proficiency in report writing, data analysis, and strong IT skills, including project management software. Adaptability and a solution-focused mindset to manage competing priorities under pressure.
