SLR is a leading international multidisciplinary environmental consultancy working across six key sectors: Built Environment, Industry, Infrastructure, Power, Mining & Minerals and Oil & Gas. SLR has a large and successful planning and EIA team that works across all sectors, throughout the UK and Ireland and with the international business.

We have an opportunity for a Planning consultant either joining as a Graduate within their first professional role, or with some degree of commercial post graduate experience to join our busy Dublin team. The successful candidate will be expected to assist with the delivery of a range of projects principally within the Built Environment, Power and Waste and Minerals sectors.

With projects across Ireland and the UK, this opportunity is an excellent prospect for the successful candidate to gain experience across a broad range of projects within multiple geographic areas. The candidate will be mentored by senior members of staff and be given the opportunity to be involved in both planning and EIA related projects.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to become involved in the full breadth of planning related work  from pre-acquisition due diligence all the way through to site delivery. The candidate will support the Waste and Minerals, Power sector and Built Environment Team within the Dublin office and be expected to shadow a lead Technical Director on a daily basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for a professional opportunity to take a role in a dynamic, forward thinking planning team.

SLR is moving towards a hybrid working model, and whilst this role would benefit from the potential for a flexible working environment, the successful candidate would be required to spend at least part of their working week within the Dublin office; in order to benefit from the mentorship of the Senior planning team members – as well as technicians, landscape architects, acousticians, air quality and hydrologists and other professionals across the breadth of expertise offered within SLR’s Dublin office.

About you
Successful candidates need to demonstrate

  • Good knowledge of the Irish planning system and EIA process
  • Strong organisational, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent report writing skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team and, if necessary, to manage a team of internal or external consultants
  • Ability to show initiative when necessary and be involved in business development or industry events
  • Good computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Adobe.
  • Excellent time management

Desirable:

  • Full driving licence
  • In design and MS project experience
  • Good graphics and report presentation skills
