We have an excellent opportunity for a talented and ambitious Associate/Senior Associate looking to take the next step in your career by leading the establishment of our new Cork office and expanding our existing presence in the Munster region. JSA Planning is renowned for its deep understanding of Ireland’s planning system and its expertise in securing approvals for large and complex developments. About the role The candidate will play a pivotal role in establishing and leading our Cork office, shaping its strategic direction, building a high-performing team, and expanding our presence across the Munster region. The role will involve working as part of one of Ireland’s foremost planning consultancies, for a wide range of Irish and multi-national clients. Ideally the candidate will have a minimum of 5 years planning experience in the Cork / Munster region and will head up our new JSA office in Cork. Initially the candidate will work with existing JSA teams and assist with existing Munster based projects, eventually taking full ownership of these projects and client relationships. The candidate will have the opportunity to expand our market share in Cork / Munster, build a team within the JSA Cork office and increase JSA’s presence in the Cork / Munster market. The role will be supported by the Operations and Financial Team in Dublin, and report to the Managing Director on a weekly basis. Experience Irish Planning Institute and / or Royal Town Planning Institute accredited post-graduate degree, or equivalent. Member / Graduate Member of the Irish Planning Institute and / or Royal Town Planning Institute. Minimum five years relevant experience in planning consultancy. Demonstrate the potential to lead a planning team and develop our market share in the Cork / Munster region. Demonstrable experience in some or all of the following areas: – Renewable energy and electricity transmission projects. – Residential and mixed-use schemes. – Strategic infrastructure development projects. – Commercial and industrial projects. – Experience in compiling / contributing to EIARs. – Experienced in managing medium to large scale projects independently Skills Strong report writing skills, and experience in the authoring of planning reports, appeals, submissions. Excellent critical and analytical thinking skills and enjoy problem solving. Commercially astute and process driven, with a focus on achieving results. Strong time management, organisational, and interpersonal skills.. High level of self-motivation and ability lead a team to meet project objectives. What’s in it for you?
