The Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage’s mission is to support the sustainable and efficient delivery of well-planned homes and effective local government. Led by an Assistant Secretary, the DHLGH Planning Division comprises six units. The Department’s professional planning advisers are located within the National Strategic Planning Unit and operate under the strategic direction and leadership of the Principal Adviser/Chief Planner. The Senior Adviser (Planning) post is one of five Senior Advisers and the role includes working in close collaboration with colleagues to develop, deliver and support the strategies and objectives of the Planning Division and wider Department.
