Project Town Planner – Fehily Timoney and Company

Fehily Timoney and Company (FT) is one of Ireland’s largest indigenous consultancies in Sustainable Infrastructure, Circular Economy, Environment, Energy and Renewables.

FT offers comprehensive planning consultancy services, as part of our multidisciplinary approach during the planning phase and externally as tailor solutions for our clients. Our expertise spans renewable energy developments (onshore and offshore), residential and commercial projects, major infrastructure schemes such as roads and greenways, as well as electricity infrastructure initiatives.

FT is seeking to hire a Project Town Planner to join our Planning team, contributing to the growth of our planning service while collaborating closely with other professionals across the company.

This role is ideal for candidates with a minimum of two years; experience and offers to a exposure to a wide variety of planning-related activities, including the preparation of planning applications, preparation of Environmental Impact Assessment Reports (EIARs), planning appeals, feasibility assessments, and research. FT’s Responsibilities

What would my main responsibilities be in this role?

  • Supporting the co-ordination and delivery of projects, including the preparation and submission of planning applications, planning appeals, and reviews of submissions relating to Development Plans and Local Area Plans.
  • Ensuring projects are completed on time, working effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Collaborating with internal teams and external consultants t delivery high-quality outcomes.
  • Interpreting and evaluating planning policy, providing informed recommendations to colleagues.

 

Skills / Qualifications

Am I the right person for the role?

  • Hold a recognised planning qualification (IPI or RTPI accredited)
  • At least two years of relevant professional experience
  • Solid understanding of the Irish planning system and key environmental considerations
  • Demonstrated experience in offering planning-related advice
  • Knowledge in planning, development and environmental issues
  • Proficient in drafting reports and making well-rounded recommendations
  • Strong ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, clients and multidisciplinary design teams
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential
