Founded in 1975, the Irish Planning Institute (IPI) is the all-island professional body representing professional planners engaged in physical, spatial and environmental planning in Ireland and Irish planners practicing overseas.
Representing over 1,000 planners across the public and private sector, members of the Irish Planning Institute work in Local Authorities, Academia, An Bord Pleanála, Central Government, Regional Assemblies, in Private Practice as Consultants, for large Developers and for semi state organisations.
The IPI speaks on behalf of our members working across every sector and every part of Ireland. Our governing Council and executive committees meet regularly and members can get involved in a variety of other ways too, feeding into submissions, consultations, surveys and more. Members have a direct say in what we do and how we do it – our mandate comes from their feedback, their priorities and their ideas.
