There is no provision in the IPI Constitution for a category of Retired Member. However, the Institute has followed a policy over many years of making available a reduced membership rate for those Corporate or Fellow Members that have retired or are on long term sick leave from their previous position in the planning profession.

To qualify for the reduced rate the member should:

  • Be retired from their previous planning position.
  • No longer be earning an income from the planning profession. This would include for example part-time consultancy, fee per case work etc.

The purpose of the reduced rate is to allow retired members to remain involved in the Institute and to avail of the full benefits of Corporate Membership, including member rates at conferences, voting rights at AGMs, CPD, study trips, newsletters, etc. whilst acknowledging their reduced income.

Fees

Current rate for Retired Members is €60.
