The role We are looking for a capable Executive Planner who can manage planning projects and workstreams with increasing independence and contribute confidently across a varied portfolio of development projects. You will work closely with Purser’s Directors and Senior Planners, clients and multidisciplinary teams, taking ownership of defined projects and workstreams, identifying key planning issues and developing clear, well-reasoned recommendations. This is a role for someone who has established a strong professional foundation and is ready to take the next step – exercising greater judgement, coordinating others and taking increasing responsibility for project delivery and client relationships. As an Executive Planner, you will: Manage planning projects and workstreams with increasing independence. Prepare high-quality planning applications, reports, submissions and planning advice. Undertake planning research and analysis, identify key issues and develop well-reasoned recommendations. Contribute to planning strategy across a range of project types and development stages. Coordinate programme, information and multidisciplinary consultant inputs. Engage directly with clients, local authorities, statutory bodies and project teams. Lead appropriate project discussions and communicate planning advice clearly and confidently. Critically review work and identify opportunities to strengthen quality. Coordinate and support the work of junior colleagues where appropriate. Monitor priorities, programme and resources across assigned projects and workstreams. What we’re looking for You should have: A degree or postgraduate qualification in Town Planning or a related discipline. Typically 2–4 years’ relevant professional experience within the Irish planning system. Membership of, or progress towards professional accreditation with, the Irish Planning Institute and/or RTPI. Strong knowledge of Irish planning law, policy and statutory procedures. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong analytical, research and report-writing capability. Experience coordinating planning projects, consultant inputs and project deliverables. The ability to manage priorities effectively and deliver high-quality work with limited guidance.
