Irish Planning Institute welcomes appointment of Minister for Housing Posted on January 23, 2025January 24, 2025 by Seán O'Leary The Irish Planning Institute (IPI), the all-island professional membership organisation for spatial planners, has welcomed the appointment of James Browne TD as the Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage. With the new Programme for Government targeting the delivery of 300,000 new homes by 2030, as well as major investments in new infrastructure projects across transport, energy and water, the IPI looks forward to working proactively with Minister Browne, department officials and all relevant agencies to ensure these targets are delivered. Gavin Lawlor, President of the Irish Planning Institute said: “On behalf of our members who work as planners across the planning system I would like to congratulate James Browne on his appointment as Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage.
