Duties and Responsibilities

To manage all planning issues and requirements in-house from the site strategies, through planning, construction and operation of completed large-scale ground mounted Solar PV & Storage projects across both Ireland & UK.

  • Managing the pre and post commencement planning conditions, typically consisting of discharging and reviewing planning items, preserving existing permissions, and advising on amendment planning applications as required. This includes managing and advising on all planning issues as they arise.
  • Liaising with design teams, County Councils/ ABP, relevant state bodies and stakeholder to ensure projects are delivered and progressed in a timely manner.
  • Reviewing planning applications prior to submission. Liaising with and assisting the Development Team to address findings and foresee any potential planning issues that could arise during the Pre-Construction and Construction phases.
  • Supporting the Head of Pre-Construction. This is an excellent opportunity for the candidate to get exposure and experience of the entire development process.
  • Supporting and advising the Elgin Sales Team in funding and corporate sales transactions specifically the relation to planning elements.
  • Providing planning support to the Construction Team.

Candidate requirements

  • A planning related post-graduate degree, or equivalent
  • The candidate must possess a recognised qualification in Town Planning (IPI and/or RTPI Accredited)
  • 3+ years’ experience with the planning processes in Ireland and/or the UK
  • Have excellent critical and analytical thinking and enjoy problem solving.
  • Commercially astute and process driven.
  • Ability to manage relationships with multiple stakeholders effectively.
  • Excellent inter-disciplinary communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong time management, organisational and report writing skills.
  • High level of self-motivation and ability to work independently.
  • MS Office, MS Excel, MS Project.
  • High focus on setting priorities, keeping up with deadlines, communication, and organizational abilities.
