The Board’s role is to carry out independent assessments of appeals and applications and make decisions which respect the principles of proper planning and sustainable development in a fair, equitable and timely manner. An Bord Pleanála’s mandate is to provide high quality professional planning assessments and decisions in a timely manner having regard to the principles of transparency, impartiality, and independence.Planning InspectorA Planning Inspector (PI) is a member of the Planning Operations Division and is required to make quality, timely planning assessments and recommendations on a variety of case work. The role has a day to day working and reporting relationship to a Senior Planning Inspector and Assistant Director of Planning.
