Brock McClure is an ambitious independent planning consultancy acting for a range of public and private sector clients on a range of development projects across the country. We make a valuable contribution to our clients’ development process – from site acquisition through to receipt of planning permission.

We are looking to recruit Planning Consultants to help meet our current workload and to further contribute to the growth and development of the business.

As a Planner with Brock McClure you will be part of a busy team, handling a varied range of planning duties.  The role offers a broad area of responsibility with involvement in all aspects of the planning process. We are looking for someone who is motivated, ambitious and can use initiative to contribute to our projects. The person must be able to work independently and be content to work in a flexible working environment.

Role Responsibilities will include:

  • Development Appraisals
  • Planning Application Preparation and Management
  • Appeals
  • Liaising with clients, architects and practitioners of other related professions
  • Preparation and Management of LRD Applications
  • Compliance Submissions
  • Project Management


  • Degree/Masters in Planning with IPI/RTPI accreditation an advantage
  • 2 – 6 years + experience of Planning, depending on the role applied for.
  • Clear and demonstrative knowledge of relevant legislative provisions.
  • Positive, ‘can do’ attitude, interpersonally effective with the ability to influence people positively.
  • Strong Microsoft Office experience
  • Ability to work efficiently under a high pressure
  • Effective Communicator (active listening, questioning, expressing self clearly and concisely)
  • Excellent report writing skills are essential
  • Contribute pro-actively, positively and professionally to formal and informal discussions with all colleagues
  • Approachable to all colleagues
  • An ability to develop trust and respect from colleagues across the organisation
