Land & Planning Manager

CapEx are recruiting on behalf of a leading Construction Group based in Co Meath who are looking to strengthen their planning dept by making this key appointment.

The company is a large construction materials and contracting company with a substantial portfolio of existing land and production facilities, continuously expanding and evolving with the market nationally.

The Planning and Environmental Department is a small group of professionals working with the Board of Directors to manage regulatory compliance of the existing property portfolio and expand the resource base of the company through identification of new land and securing regulatory consent.  The role has evolved due to the existing Senior Manager overseeing the dept requiring additional support that will allow them to focus on the management of the department, but still supporting the new person as required to fulfil the role.  This is a full-time permanent position based Co. Meath (Hybrid / Remote Options also) and will require travel to various sites. This is an exciting, constantly evolving role, dealing with planning associated with existing plants and facilities, also being involved early in the future expansion and development opportunities of the Group.

Key Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will possess strong experience in a planning and environmentally focused role both in the office and out on site.

  • Preparing Planning Applications, Appeals and Oral Hearings.
  • Planning Compliance Submissions.
  • Environmental Impact Assessment.
  • Contributing to the Management of the Property, Planning and Environmental Portfolios of the Company.
  • Managing Multi-disciplined Consultants.
  • Making Submission with Respect to County Development Plans and other Regulatory Plans and Policies.
  • Liaise with the Board of Directors to Expand Company Resources.
  • Demonstrate a lead by example approach to all aspects of Health & Safety

The successful candidate will have:

  • Planner (BSc) minimum or MSc in Spatial Planning / Regional & Urban Planning
  • 7 years post graduate experience in similar role.
  • Membership of MIPI or MIEI or other professional membership as appropriate.
